Laura came to Bethel in June 2000. She grew up in Ohio and was an active member of her local church as a child and young adult. She attended West Virginia Wesleyan College where she met her husband Joseph Fisher. Both having received calls to ministry, they attended seminary at Emory University in Atlanta Ga. Laura served churches in Georgia and West Virginia before coming to Florida in 1996. Laura and Joe were associate ministers at Pasadena U.M.C. in St. Petersburg while Bethel's previous minister Magrey deVega was a member there. Laura also served as pastor to the Woodville U.M.C. before coming to Bethel. Her husband Joe is presently the pastor of Crawfordville U.M.C.
